Mindful Improvisation
I have delved into mindful improvisation. Being sharp in the here and now – attuned to yourself and your senses. To the signals from others and the imagined environment.

Using your own body, emotions and thoughts as instruments to act thruthful. It is therefore more improv acting training than theatresports as we know in the Netherlands, or match improv.

The lessons are reflective and profound, yet remain light. It deepens your performance. Something I love to contribute to in the improv theater world!

I only teach in short blocks of a maximum of 3 evenings, in and around Nijmegen. Would you like to invite me from further away? Then I will come for a lesson of at least 4 hours and charge 25 cents per km for travel expenses.

Hero's Journey
The famous steps/study by Joseph Campbell used as a structure in just about all adventure and fantasy stories you know from books and television. The fascinating thing about this is how every human life is a hero's journey (or several), and how we can share our life questions and wisdom through imaginative stories!

MAD WORLD, an improvised hero's journey
In 20 hours of class, I prepare experienced actors for a fully improvised theatre performance of approximately 1 to 1.5 hours. In these lessons, you will be introduced to the structure, and to which elements and archetypes influence the hero's development and in what way. You will also learn how recognizable, universal symbolism adds depth to our story.

The show
Mythical landscapes and characters come to life, and one adventure story is experienced on the spot, about one hero who exists only in this moment. Does this hero save the community from disaster? And what does this journey actually mean for him/her personally? Obstacles and enemies, new perspectives, and growth. Magical objects and absurd creatures. Everything passes by in a Mad World.

An introductory workshop into the Hero's journey in improv lasts a minimum of 6 hours.
PRICE: I charge €75 per hour, including 21% VAT, excluding travel expenses.
